Meta in Furs explores the relationship between linen, lurex, lycra and the thermoplastic material PVA in woven geometric patterns and bindings.
The main objective of this project was to weave a flat fabric that, through after treatments of heat and water, could be shaped, moulded and transformed without any sewing but solely by taking advantage of the various materials inherent properties.
The outcome presents a range of sculptural possibilities where the woven flat fabrics, through steam and water padding, obtain three-dimensional surfaces and textures.
Materials: linen, lurex, cotton/lycra, PVA. Binding: Weft lancé in various geometric patterns.
