Upstream is a collection of flat-knitted textiles where the inherent properties of contrasting materials are explored and manipulated, turning the materials themselves into tools for self-forming.

Upstream is an investigational project where raw material, construction and form exist co-dependently of each other. The interaction between the soft materials - that become pliant when subjected to hot temperatures, and the rigid materials, allow for organic self-forming possibilities creating three-dimensional sculptural expressions and textures.

Materials: copper yarn, PA/lycra, pemotex, wool and monofilament.

The pieces are hand-knitted on Silver Reed knitting machine as well as digitally programmed and knitted on circular- and flatbed knitting machines.
